Dr. Stevens has served as head medical physician for the Carolina Hurricanes since the inception of the organization in 1997 and he also serves as head company physician for the Carolina Ballet. He is a long-time member of NHL Team Physicians Society and is an expert on asthma and respiratory problems in athletes. Dr. Stevens also serves as the President and Medical Director of the American Institute of Healthcare and Fitness in North Raleigh. Among other awards, Dr. Stevens was the 1999 recipient of the Citizen of the Year Award by the Multiple Sclerosis Society of North Carolina. Dr. Stevens is married to Dr. Patience Stevens and they have 3 sons. During his spare time, Dr. Stevens can be found surfing, skateboarding with his sons and helping them with local boy scout activities.
